I love big sunflowers and I like to paint them when I can. I'm drawn to their texture which I find both rugged and delicate at the same time. It's fun to imagine a composition then go through the process of applying the pigment. This was just a blast to paint, sometimes everything works out just right with a painting and I know it when it happens.

ReplyDeleteI love this painting. Matter of fact, I saw it recently at the home of my brother, Ed Buonvecchio and his wife. I love the bird of paradise also. I love your paintings. Ed told me what a great guy you are and how you have inspired him. Thanks. (I think Ed is a great guy also!!) By the way, we love jazz also. Have timeshare in New Orleans.
